Supporting Clubs and Organizations

The continued support and generosity of The Triangle Luncheon Civitans has helped Northern High School Culinary provide the best learning resources and opportunities to all of our students for the past 5 years. TLC is a valued partner of the Northern High School Culinary family, and we are so grateful for all that they have done and continue to do for us.

Our partnership with the Kennel Club is a cultural as well as catering event. Culinary students experience a new and unique world of dog agility trials. Twice a year we provide the food and service for the 3-day event.

Our partnership with Umstead Pines Country Club is what sets NHS Culinary apart from all other schools. Once a month our students develop a formal gourmet menu, staff and operate the kitchen, and provide a variety of table service. (French, American, British)

Over the years, Duke University food service has demonstrated unwavering support for Northern High School Culinary with part-time culinary positions in a variety of campus restaurants. We place 8 -12 students each year.

The support of Durham Regional hospital provides a  Northern High School Culinary students a Chef internship- leading to a full time career position after graduation. DRH is a valued partner of the Northern High School Culinary family. By providing an opportunity for a career they validate our classroom/ lab lessons.

Durham City Hall has always been a supporter of our students. There are a variety of offices and departments within our local government. We have served them all. From the Tax office, Register of Deeds, to the Commissioners and Mayors office.

We would also like to mention the following groups and organizations for their support.

The Masons, Duke Garden Volunteers, Northern Football team, Durham Soil and Water. Public Broadcasting through the “ Peoples Channel”, Duke Homestead Museum, Northgate Mall, local churches, shelters, and the hundreds of individuals who support us with equipment, monetary donation or with a smile and kind words.
